Hello, this is the first article and explanation of what I do might be weird or strange but bare with me ha. Wrong words might be used — warning.
Last year was burly, it was reflective, sadness and a time of change for everyone. This collection is meant to be a relative interpretation of that year in three themes: Hell, Data and Prayer. Not a sad reflection but an artistic expression that I felt in that year and now looking back.
“I thank God for the pain because it made me this…” Drama by Dave — Psychodrama
Yes this is my vision but I look at this collection as a 3rd party and birds eye view with three different worlds. Which is how I like to make decisions normally. Like taking steps and re-tracing them back to this current moment. This is an artistic representation not my beliefs, just a story and canvas I have made and versioned like all my work.
Hell and Back — 1/3
This animation is a showcase of pandemic rained hell on society and how no one was expecting such devastating damage from a virus that began in China. At first it was even referred to the “China virus”.
The church burning in the video showcases how the fundamentals of society collapsed. “You always want the church in the centre of the village” is not an English idiom or well-known phrase. Having a religious place in the middle of a town, village or city represents a place of community and Covid-19 changed that.
The sign language flashed graphic at the end of the video means RUN, this connects again to how community and unity is lost at this moment and everyone is running to keep themselves safe but creates chaos in their path.
If one thing came of 2020 is how important data is and manipulative it can be, not going to say everything is fake or we live in a simulation (unless?) but when your talking people, memories, communities, families and more being wrong can cause dangerous consequences . Just going to leave this scientific paper from 2018 here: https://science.sciencemag.org/content/359/6380/1146
Media and websites live off fear, emotions and shock value. Also this animation could be a reference to how everyone this year has been referred to as a statistic. Death and memories are forever, data is not.
This sense represents how the year 2020 has been a graveyard of people and how we moved through the fog and grass where you can’t see to be able to reach the exit and hoping the grass is greener on the other side.
The knife in the skull is a reference to the story of Jael in the Book of Judges.
Music: Show Out — Kid Cudi, Skepta & Pop Smoke — The NFT will come with a custom produced sound track by instagram.com/soundbydarkage/
The final piece of the puzzle and the most complex in the collection — Prayer.
(Again this is an artistic representation not my beliefs, just a story I have made and visioned — I see the person you pray to as a voice in my head this is my depiction). This video shows a model of Jesus Christ with a skull as his head with a knife in. This represents to me that even the devil was able to take over him last year causing chaos more than ever. I argue that last year it wasn’t Jesus’ answer that prayers were “him”. He is holding a glowing heart in his right palm indicating how his heart has been lost and how he has taken others. The data “glitching and moshing” shows how corruption has taken over him. This person I sometimes pray too could also sometimes just be an exaggerated vision of me.
The barbed wire traveling across the piece parallel to the mouth is also a symbol of how my bad actions could possibly be hurting that voice of reason when I pray making him/it speak less. With an atmosphere of fog and some representing doubt. Additionally as you can see there is a flaming cross in his left palm showcasing my loss of faith and maybe regain on it going in and out.

I Hope this article can showcase some of my thoughts, feelings and words I put into this collection about 2020.
